Who we are
CarRunningCosts.co.uk is a small independent website providing free car running cost calculators for UK drivers. You can contact us at hello@carrunningcosts.co.uk with any questions about this policy.
The calculators themselves
The figures you enter into any calculator on this site (distance, fuel price, mileage, and so on) are processed entirely in your own browser using JavaScript. They are never sent to, or stored on, our servers. Closing or refreshing the page clears them completely.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses cookies and similar technologies set by Google, as described below, to serve advertising and to measure site usage. We do not set any cookies of our own beyond what's strictly necessary for the site to function.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site may show adverts served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info if you are outside the EU.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand roughly how many people visit, which pages are used, and which calculators are popular, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as your approximate location, device type and browsing behaviour on this site, in an aggregated and largely anonymised form. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and you can use the opt-out links above for Google's advertising and analytics cookies specifically. Blocking cookies may affect how ads are shown but will not affect the calculators themselves, which run locally in your browser regardless.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in the tools or services we use. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
